This heirloom was made by Inez in Gilbertsville, N.Y. in the early
1960's. As did most braiders then, she made several braided rugs by
cutting up old woolen coats, blankets, etc. When Inez moved into an
assisted living facility, the rug came to her son who remembers her
on the floor working on the rug. When he said he would like to have
the rug restored and put in a place of honor in his living room, I was
truly touched. So I did so! The outside row was removed, 7 outside rows
were opened up and totally relaced with the last row butted to form
a continuous cirle and no sign of a taper. It is a pleasure to know
it is in a "place of honor" in her son's living room.
