"The Berner"...a 40" Round Braided Rug

This rug was made on consignment for a national dog owner association as a raffle item for their annual meeting. "The Berner" was constructed using 2 hooked rug centers, one on each side, bonded together back-to-back, sewn around the edges, and then surrounded by nine rows of triple-strand braids.

The rug is a perfect circle, constructed with 118 square feet of 100% wool, with no fillers. It consists of eight yards of 60" wide material made into 68 feet of braid.

The braids are laced, not sewn, and the lacing twine is not visible on either side of the rug. The lacing twine is spliced into one continous piece of 120', without knots.

The last row is a continous necklace with no perceivable beginning or end.

This is the finest rug you can buy anywhere. The owners of this heirloom quality creation can expect that future generations will enjoy it and treasure it as well.
