Braided Chairpads/Stair Treads: Gallery # 2

Stair treads, like my rugs, are made with all heavy weight wool and are reversible. They can be designed with any color combinations. Stair treads are difficult to make. Despite their small size, each of them has all the tedious tasks that occur in a larger rug. For example, each 8 1/2" X 25" stair tread has a beginning row, a taper row and a final or "necklace" row as does a 9' X 12' oval rug. The challenge is to keep them all uniform in design and size.
